What is the Interest Rate?Interest rate 4.00% Gross/4.00% AER. (From 31st October 2025)

AER stands for Annual Equivalent Rate.  It illustrates what the interest rate would be if interest was paid and compounded each year.

Interest is calculated daily and is variable. Interest is  compounded annually on the last day of February.

Can esbs change the Interest Rate?We may change interest rates at any time if we reasonably believe the change is needed.  Please refer to Condition 7 – Interest in the Terms and Conditions for esbs Retail Savings Accounts for further details.
What would the estimated balance be after 12 months based on a £1,000 deposit?

 

 

  • The projected balance based on the current interest rate on the minimum balance of £5,000 is £5,200.00.

How do I open and manage my account?

 

 

 

  • The account may only be opened by UK residents aged 16 or over. Proof of age
    will be required when opening an account
  • Minimum balance £5,000
  • Maximum balance £250,000
  • To apply for the 60 Day Notice please read the 60 Day Notice leaflet to ensure this account is suitable for you.  Please be certain to read the Terms and Conditions for esbs Retail Savings Accounts.
  • If you wish to open an account you can download and print an application form, apply in person in one of our branches or, should you wish for an application form to be sent in the post for you, call our Savings Team on 01455 844422.  Please remember to provide the correct identification and funds
  • You can manage your account at our branches or by post.
Can I withdraw money?
  • Withdrawals are permitted with at least 60 days’ notice. No withdrawals
    without full notice period being served. (i.e. No early closure with loss of
    interest)
  • Withdrawals can be made by cheque, in cash subject to Society’s daily cash
    limits or by faster payment to your nominated bank account.
  • Interest can only be paid into the account

  • Joint accounts are permitted
