Please be certain to read our full terms and conditions and product terms and conditions. You will be able to print out the relevant application form, complete it and either take it into one of our branches or post it back to us.

Cancellation
If you are not happy with your choice of savings account, you may cancel it within 14 days of:
the day the contract is entered into; or
the day on which you receive the contract terms and conditions and other information on paper or electronically; whichever is later.
We will help you switch to another of our accounts or we will give you all your money back with any interest it has earned. We will ignore any notice period and any extra charges.
If you decide to exercise your right of cancellation you must inform the Society, in writing, within the 14 day period.
Payment of Interest
From 6th April 2016, taxpayers will have a new personal savings allowance. This means that up to £1,000 of income from savings (e.g. any interest earned) will be tax-free for basic rate taxpayers, and up to £500 of savings income will be tax-free for higher rate taxpayers.
For further information about these changes, go to GOV.UK and search for personal savings allowance.
Electronic Payments
When you send money electronically to your savings or mortgage account with us, it’s important that you include your full name (or business name), as it appears on your account and also select the payment type called ‘Personal’.
You’ll also need the following account details:
– Sort code: 62-28-71
– Account number: 00000000
– Your reference: This is your account number with us and is usually 10 digits
• If your account number is not quoted the payment will be returned
• Payments into your account can only be made in sterling
• Please contact the Society if making a payment of more than £250,000 as this will need to be arranged via the CHAPS system
Pay.UK’s Confirmation of Payee (CoP) service
We have now joined CoP which is a name-checking service that aims to stop UK based payments being sent to the wrong account and assists banks and building societies like us in protecting our customers against fraud. It helps keep your money safe by checking the name on the payee’s (person who’s being paid) account before funds are sent to us.
Our CoP service satisfies mandatory requirements from the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) to help ensure that the Society receives funds safely and securely. It does this by verifying customers’ account information plus additional data, such as a building society account number or reference.
Further details can be found here or in branch.
Paying cheques into your account
Please make cheques payable to the account holder. Cheques made payable to the Society will only be accepted for payment into an account if they contain additional details (such as the name(s) of the account holder(s) or your 10 digit account number), so that it is clear who the money is intended for.

Tax Residency Self Certification Declaration Form
The UK government has, and will be signing, a number of inter-governmental agreements to share tax information, where applicable, with the tax authorities in other countries. The requirement for financial institutions to collect certain information about each customer’s tax arrangement is now part of UK legislation.
If you are not a citizen and tax resident of the UK only you must complete a Tax Residency Self Certification Declaration Form (available in the downloads section) in addition to the savings account application form. If the account you are opening is a tax favoured account such as a Cash ISA the Tax Residency Self Certification Declaration Form does not need to be completed.
