What is the Interest Rate?4.10% Gross/4.10% AER (From 17 November 2023)

 

AER stands for Annual Equivalent Rate. It illustrates what the interest rate would be if interest was paid and compounded each year.

Interest is calculated daily and is variable. Interest is compounded annually on the last day of February.

Can esbs change the Interest Rate?We may change interest rates at any time if we reasonably believe the change is needed.  Please refer to Condition 7 – Interest in the Terms and Conditions for esbs Retail Savings Accounts for further details.
What would the estimated balance be after 12 months based on a £1,000 deposit?

 

The projected balance based on the current interest rate, on the minimum balance of £10,000 is £10,410.00.

How do I open and manage my account?

 

  • The account may only be opened by UK registered organisations and UK residents.
  • Minimum balance £10,000.
  • Maximum balance £250,000.
  • To apply for a Advantage Account please read the Advantage Account leaflet to ensure this account is suitable for you.  Please be certain to read the Terms and Conditions for esbs Retail Savings Accounts.
  • If you wish to open an account you can apply in person in one of our branches or, should you wish for an application form to be sent in the post for you, call our Savings Team on 01455 844422.  Please remember to provide the correct identification and funds.
  • You can manage your account at our branches or by post.
Can I withdraw money?
  • Yes – 60 calendar days notice is required which begins upon receipt of the passbook by the Society.
  • 4 withdrawals per year (1st March – last day of February).  5th withdrawal and subsequent withdrawals will incur a charge of £5 which will be debited from the account.  The minimum withdrawal amount is £10,000.  Withdrawals can be made by cheque, payable to the account holder only, or by CHAPS, payable to the bank account registered with the Society only.
Additional Information
  • Closure of this account means that a new one may not be opened for 12 months from date of closure.
