Building society appoints new Business & Information Systems Technician

esbs has recently welcomed a new member to its growing team.

Julian Morrison was appointed to the role of Business & Information Systems Technician in February 2019.

Originally from Plymouth, Julian started out as a bricklayer but transitioned into a variety of roles working in automated distribution warehouses after moving to Leicestershire.

He has spent the past six years of his career in the IT sector.

“I was interested in joining the esbs team because I wanted to have the opportunity to broaden my skills working for a friendly building society,” Julian explains.

“Now that I have started in my role, I’m relishing the chance to influence and contribute to the work of esbs by drawing on my experience with large enterprise organisations.

“Living locally, being at the Society has allowed me to cut down on long commutes on the motorway, which is a definite bonus!”

In his spare time, Julian’s hobbies include cycling, walking, DIY, photography and keeping fit at the gym.

His main passion is cars, and he has a particular interest in classic Fords.

“I own an old Ford,” he adds, “and I try to keep it in good working order during the winter months whilst it is hibernating so that it’s ready for the good weather in the summer!”

Paul Tilley, Chief Executive of esbs, said: “I would like to wish Julian a very warm welcome to the team.

“He brings an impressive range of experience working within IT solutions to the role, and I am sure his talents will continue to flourish with us here at esbs.”
