esbs announces latest charity beneficiaries

esbs has announced the results of its In the Community Charity Token Collector scheme for the third quarter of 2025. Through online voting, two charities shared £500 in donations from the building society.

Alzheimer’s Society received £352.50 after securing 70.5% of the vote. Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity, supporting people affected by dementia through information, care, and research. Locally, its “Singing for the Brain” group in Blaby offers therapeutic music sessions that uplift and connect participants. Alzheimer’s Society is the only UK charity funding all types of dementia research, from biomedical to care.

Take Heart Leicester received £147.50 with 29.5% of the vote. Take Heart Leicester is a support group for adult cardiac patients and their families across Leicestershire. Founded in 1985 by former patients, it offers a sympathetic community for those experiencing heart issues. Monthly meetings at Glenfield Hospital provide an informal space for sharing experiences over tea and biscuits. The charity also runs a hospital bookstall, walking group, social events, and hospital visits to support patients on adult cardiac wards.

For quarter four of 2025, the charities selected are The Air Ambulance Service and Zinthiya Trust. The Air Ambulance Service is a lifesaving charity that provides rapid emergency response across Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, and Rutland. With helicopters and critical care vehicles on call day and night, the charity ensures that specialist doctors and paramedics can reach patients in the most urgent situations, often where road access is limited. Every mission is funded entirely by donations, as the service receives no government support. Each year, thousands of people benefit from this critical care, which can make the difference between life and death.

Zinthiya Trust is a registered charity providing support to women and girls living in Leicester and Leicestershire, helping service users to become more secure financially, emotionally, and physically. The charity supports those experiencing or at risk of all forms of abuse, including psychological, physical, sexual, financial, and emotional abuse. Its services range from one-to-one bespoke support, information, advice, and mentoring, to group sessions and training such as the Freedom Programme. By creating a safe, supportive environment, Zinthiya Trust empowers women and girls to rebuild their lives, gain confidence, and move forward with resilience and independence.

Scott Devereux, Chief Executive of esbs, said, “We are proud to continue supporting such a diverse range of charities through our In the Community scheme. Every vote cast by our members directly contributes to organisations that make a tangible difference across our region, and we look forward to seeing how this quarter’s beneficiaries use their donations.”

Voting for quarter four of 2025 is now open and will close on 31st December 2025. To cast your vote, visit: https://www.esbs.co.uk/charity-token-collector/.
