esbs continues to support local charities through its Charity Token Collector scheme, in which £500 is divided between two charities each quarter, decided by public vote on the esbs website.
Last quarter, the In the Community scheme supported Anthony Nolan and Sands, resulting in equal donations of £250.00 each.
Anthony Nolan works to match stem cell donors with people battling blood cancers and disorders while Sands is the UK’s leading charity supporting families affected by the loss of a baby.
Alzheimer’s Society and Take Heart Leicester are the next charities to benefit from the scheme.
Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity, supporting people affected by dementia through information, care, and research. Locally, its “Singing for the Brain” group in Blaby offers therapeutic music sessions that uplift and connect participants. Alzheimer’s Society is the only UK charity funding all types of dementia research, from biomedical to care.
Take Heart Leicester is a support group for adult cardiac patients and their families across Leicestershire. Founded in 1985 by former patients, it offers a sympathetic community for those experiencing heart issues. Monthly meetings at Glenfield Hospital provide an informal space for sharing experiences over tea and biscuits. The charity also runs a hospital bookstall, walking group, social events, and hospital visits to support patients on adult cardiac wards.
Scott Devereux, Chief Executive of esbs, said, “We’re very proud to continue supporting such an array of charities. Every donation makes a difference, and we encourage our members to get involved by casting their votes online.”
Voting for Q3 of the Charity Token Collector scheme is now open and will close on 30th September 2025. To cast your vote, visit: https://www.esbs.co.uk/charity-token-collector/.
