esbs supports global reforestation with TreeApp partnership

Leicestershire-based esbs has strengthened its commitment to environmental sustainability by partnering with TreeApp, a platform dedicated to global reforestation effort for a second year.

TreeApp allows individuals and businesses to fund tree-planting projects worldwide, helping to offset carbon emissions and support biodiversity.

This initiative is part of esbs’ ongoing mission to reduce its carbon footprint and contribute to a healthier planet. The newly planted trees will not only absorb carbon dioxide but also help restore natural habitats, support biodiversity, and improve livelihoods in communities affected by deforestation. Through this scheme, esbs contributed 250 trees in 2024, and is expecting to fund another 250 in 2025.

Scott Devereux, Chief Executive of esbs, said: “As a building society rooted in our community, we recognise the importance of playing our part in protecting the planet for future generations. By partnering with TreeApp, we’re not only offsetting carbon emissions but also investing in a healthier, more sustainable world.”

This initiative aligns with esbs’ ongoing efforts to champion sustainability, complementing past environmental projects, including local tree planting and installing solar panels on its Earl Shilton branch.
