Meal subscription services offer a convenient middle-ground for people who want to cook fresh meals but don’t have time for meal planning, grocery shopping, or prep work. These services deliver pre-planned, pre-chopped, and pre-measured ingredients that can go straight from the box into the pan. While they can save time, they do come with a higher price tag compared to buying and preparing ingredients yourself. Last month, we conducted a survey to find out how many people have tried these services.
Half of those surveyed (50%) have never been interested in trying a meal subscription service. Meanwhile, a notable 32% have only used such services when offered at a discount, suggesting that the cost is a key factor in their appeal. Supporting this, 11% of respondents said they had never used a meal subscription service specifically due to its cost. The remaining 7% recognised that while the service is expensive, the time and stress it saves make the cost worthwhile for them.
