A no spend month is a popular challenge where you commit to limiting your spending for a month to only essential purchases. It’s a great way to reset your budget and curb unnecessary expenses, so last month we surveyed how many people have given it a try.

14% of those surveyed have embraced a no spend month, finding it an effective strategy to temporarily curb spending. Meanwhile, a significant 38% have opted for a more targeted approach, focusing on specific categories like clothing. This method allows for more flexibility while still encouraging mindful spending.

24% of respondents think a no spend month is a great idea but haven’t yet taken the plunge, while the last 24% are content with their current budget and spending habits, indicating that not everyone feels the need for a spending reset.
