Enjoying hobbies and entertainment is an important part of life, but how do people manage their spending while keeping their financial goals in check?
In our latest website poll, 56% of respondents said they indulge when they can but keep an eye on their spending, suggesting that while most people enjoy their hobbies, they’re also mindful of not overspending.
Meanwhile, 22% of voters take a more structured approach, budgeting a set amount each month for fun. By setting financial boundaries in advance, they can enjoy their hobbies without worrying about going over budget.
For 11%, saving takes priority over entertainment, meaning they spend very little on hobbies in favour of building their financial security. Whether working towards a major financial goal or simply preferring to save, this group keeps their spending to a minimum.
On the other hand, another 11% admitted they often prioritise entertainment over saving. While it’s great to enjoy life in the moment, balancing fun with long-term financial wellbeing is always worth considering.
