In memory of John Gilbert

Last year we suffered the loss of Mr. John Gilbert, former CEO of the Society. He was a
dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, and valued member of our community. His
family has had a massive impact on the Society having played a key role in its running for
over 100 years until Mr. John Gilbert retired in the 1990s, so in his honour we commissioned
a memorial plaque which we’ve proudly displayed on the front of our Head Office in Earl
Shilton.
Pictured below are Sally Hunt, Dot Truman, and Denise Warrington who all worked closely
with Mr. Gilbert before his retirement.
We thank Mr Gilbert, and his predecessors, for their contribution to esbs and our thoughts
are with his family and friends.
