esbs, or Earl Shilton Building Society, is donating over £1,000 of home starter kits to Action Homeless.
Based in Leicester, Action Homeless is a non-profit organisation that devotes its time and efforts to enhancing the lives of those who are affected by homelessness, and has offered its support to individuals and families in the city and all over the county for the past 40 years.
Following the Coronavirus outbreak, Action Homeless is placing a greater focus in finding permanent homes for those in need, working with landlords across Leicestershire.
A crucial part of this process is supplying homeware to ensure Action Homeless’ customers can settle right into their new accommodation.
The home starter kits contain a toaster, kettle, bedding, and other household essentials.
James Riviere of Action Homeless said, “The Coronavirus outbreak has caused a big shakeup around the way we work at Action Homeless, and we were successful in making sure no one was living on the streets in Leicester at one point.
“Of course, those were mostly temporary measures, and we’re now keen to provide permanent homes to as many people as we can. esbs’ support in providing these home starter kits will go a long way to helping our clients settle in, and make their new house a home.”
Paul Tilley, Chief Executive of esbs, said: “We’re very pleased to continue our longstanding relationship with Action Homeless. Enabling people from all circumstances to move into their new homes is something we are very passionate about at esbs with a mortgage policy that carefully considers applications as individuals, and we’re delighted to apply that philosophy elsewhere and assist our local community.”
