Investing in people: esbs promotes home-grown talent

Leicestershire-based building society esbs has celebrated two promotions and strengthened its leadership team.

Marking her tenth year at the Society, former Senior Risk & Compliance Assistant Emma York has been promoted to Risk & Compliance Manager. Emma takes the reins from Sally Hunt who recently retired after 44 years at esbs.

As part of the Executive Leadership Team, Emma will utilise her extensive experience in compliance, risk, and anti-money laundering to ensure the Society and its members remain in safe hands.

“I’m delighted to take on this exciting leadership role as I mark my tenth year at esbs,” says Emma.

“I thoroughly enjoy working for a small and friendly society where we really can make a difference, and I am dedicated to maintaining our excellent reputation within the community.”

Also celebrating a promotion is Sharon Sutton, who has stepped up to the role of Senior Mortgage Underwriter. Sharon, who has a background in finance and joined esbs in 2013, is passionate about providing first-class customer service.

“I love the personal touch that we are able to offer our customers, and I’m delighted that my new role will enable me to drive the high standard of service we are known for and proud of,” says Sharon.

Paul Tilley, Chief Executive of esbs, said: “Congratulations to Emma and Sharon for all their hard work in the last decade; these promotions are well deserved. I’m delighted our team can evolve and enjoy fulfilling careers here at the Society.”
