esbs, or Earl Shilton Building Society, recently supported Leicester based Charity Link by contributing £100 to its Leicestershire Three Peaks Challenge.
Charity Link works across Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire with the aim of supporting people in financial hardship and crisis.
Helping over 5,000 families and vulnerable people a year, Charity Link continues to provide support to ensure that local people in need have a decent quality of life, including adequate food and clothing, a warm, safe place to sleep and the means to cook a hot meal.
The ongoing cost of living crisis means the charity is expecting a further increase in need this year, and so has turned to the local community to raise additional funds. Supporters recently gathered to take part in the charity’s annual Leicestershire Three Peaks Challenge, a 16 mile route through beautiful Charnwood countryside, raising over £14,000.
esbs also supported Charity Link earlier this year by including the charity in its In the Community scheme, in which local charities receive a share of £500 each quarter.
Rachel Markham, Communications and Fundraising Officer at Charity Link, said, “We’re very thankful for esbs’ support this year. With our unique way of working, untapping funds from charitable trusts, a donation of £100 will actually help us to provide £500 of essential items (or four beds!) for local children who currently don’t have a bed of their own.
“As you can imagine, our services have never been more vital and we are working passionately to meet the increased need we are facing, which we can only do with the ongoing support from the local community.”
Paul Tilley, Chief Executive of esbs, added, “We’re strong believers in supporting the local community where we can, so were delighted to assist Charity Link in their valuable work. The Leicestershire Three Peaks Challenge was a fantastic fundraiser, and it’s wonderful to see how passionate the team is in aiding people of Leicestershire.”
